Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Wrightsville Beach area. To book the best rental home within budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Wrightsville Beach attractions and restaurants. Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses.   • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
