Strategies to get the best Holden Beach vacation home experience:

Get the most from your rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To get the best value, try changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • In the Wrightsville Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Wrightsville Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Narrow your Search:

  • Choose dates and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. \"Tides a Wastin' \" Private Pool w\/Opt Heat, Hot Tub, Tiki Bar, Elevator has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. If you don't see them listed, email the host before reserving the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • If there's an individual Wrightsville Beach destination you long to visit, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Tips for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of problems.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
