Tips and Tricks to get the very best Wrightsville Beach rental home experience:

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • In the Wrightsville Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer time is high season in Oak Island. To find the largest rental within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Wrightsville Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Finding the perfect vacation home in Oak Island:

  • Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Golden Hour: Luxurious Home with Pool Overlooking Lockwood Folly Inlet has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the host right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
