Our top Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Money saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Ocean Isle Beach. Reserve your rental property in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wrightsville Beach area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wrightsville Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to select the perfect rental:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and select a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Float My Boat on the canal in OIB! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wrightsville Beach vacation rental search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible online. If not, reach out to the property manager before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
  • Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the host's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great time? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
