Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Money saving strategies:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Wrightsville Beach area. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Wrightsville Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wrightsville Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • To start, have your family select date ranges and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Dog-friendly 2nd-row home with beach views, deck, outdoor shower, & wagon has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a specific Wrightsville Beach attraction you are enamored with, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the host's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • During arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to compel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
