Sticking to a spending budget:

  • In the Wrightsville Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Summer is high season in Bald Head Island. To find the best rental within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Wrightsville Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection.   • Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
