Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Carolina Beach vacation home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Carolina Beach. To get the largest rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to pick the best vacation home in the Wrightsville Beach area:

  • First and foremost, have your family decide on vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Cozy 1-bedroom condo in charming Carolina Beach just steps to the sand! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. If not, email the property manager before booking your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.
  • Does your group require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas upon check in. text the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
