Wrightsville Beach rental home tips and tricks:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in Sunset Beach. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local Wrightsville Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Selecting the best vacation rental:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Continental Motel - studio with kitchenette close to beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking

Advice for your stay:

  • Put the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Call the host immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
