Getting the best Oak Island vacation property experience:

Get the best value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Wrightsville Beach area. To get the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Some hosts offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Wrightsville Beach area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Wrightsville Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and picking yourvacation home:

  • Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Comfortable Cottage blocks from the beach! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available online. If not, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your vacation group.
  • If there's a specific Wrightsville Beach destination you love, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Have a great stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to compel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
