It is also within a five-to-ten-min. drive of the Fort Fisher Historical Site, the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher, and the Fort Fisher-Southport Ferry.

*Please keep in mind that if you are renting a property with a pool during the off-season, it may not be open or available. Pools are usually open from mid- May to September, but dates can vary based on weather, permits, HOA guidelines, inspections, improvements, and unforeseen events. Getting the most from your rental budget:

• The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
• Booking websites typically offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses.
