IMPORTANT BOOKING NOTE: From Memorial Day weekend through the second week in August our home ONLY rents BY THE WEEK from SUNDAY to SUNDAY. All booking requests for reservations during the last week of May, JUNE, JULY, and the first 2 weeks of AUGUST must be for a SUNDAY TO SUNDAY booking or the reservation request will not be considered for approval.

During NON-summer months AFTER the second week of August UNTIL Memorial Day weekend our home MAY be available for minimum 3 day units depending on the month and week and how close to your reservation date you are booking (we normally only approve requests for reservations that are less than one week in duration if they are made less than 30 days prior to arrival since we like to leave our calendar open for and give preference to families who want to book a weekly rental instead of just a 3 nighttime weekend rental. Off season HOLIDAY WEEKEND units normally require a minimum 4 nighttime rental unless booked one month or less prior to the reservation start date). Please send an inquiry if you want to book for less than a week during the non-summer non-peak season and we will let you know if the particular time period you want to book is available since we give priority to weekly units but do accept a request for a “long weekend” rental of just 3 nights during non-summer months for non holiday weekends if the request is made less than 30 days in advance of arrival date on a non holiday weekend or less than 7 days in advance of arrival date if it is a holiday weekend.

BEST OF BOTH WORLDS, the beauty & serenity of being tucked into the edge of the maritime forest right before the forest transitions into beach topography AND a fast 3 to 4 min. walk to arguably the best beach access on Bald Head Island. This is the last non-private beach access before the developed portion of Bald Head Island transitions from a dozen or so homes north of the beach access into miles and miles of undeveloped beach. BEST OF BOTH WORLDS is also near the Shoals Club. A 4 and a 6 seat golf cart to discover the island are included in the rental.

I'm Tom and my background is Design-Build and interior design and my "better half" is Lindy and her background is interior design and international furnishings sales. We are SuperHosts on the "other site" and Premier Hosts on this site for the 6 bedroom vacation rental we do on our farm near Chapel Hill NC and have appreciated hosting Vacation Rental By Owner guests on our farm so much that we bought this home on Bald Head Island to do our "design and construction magic" and open it up to other families to appreciate.

Here is what differentiates our Bald Head home from the typical Bald Head home:

1. A peaceful and shaded maritime forest setting where the maritime forest is beginning its transition into beach topography yet only a quick 3 to 4 min. walk to arguably the best beach access on Bald Head
2. The modern and comfortable design flair of the interior
3. Enormous "getaway style" bedrooms that are well-separated (no two bedrooms or bathrooms share a common wall) and give folks a chance to get away from the group and have privacy when they want some autonomy.
4. Two over-sized screen porches as well as an open deck , pergola and patio, all on the sunny south side of the home providing a myriad of options for outdoor living .

Finest of Both Worlds is located on a peaceful street in the edge of the maritime forest yet so close to the ocean the sounds of the breaking waves can lull you to sleep at nighttime.

Enter the beach access that is only a quick 3 to 4 min. walk from our home and turn to your left and walk past the handful of remaining homes on the island and then you could literally walk for hours and see nothing but nature and the undisturbed beauty of miles and miles of untouched undeveloped Atlantic ocean front. No homes. No roads. No artificial dunes. Just literally miles and miles of nature and the Atlantic Ocean taking its course and sculpting the topography without man's interference.

Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:

When to reserve a Wrightsville Beach rental & When to go:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Wrightsville Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Make a plan and pick the perfect Wrightsville Beach rental home:

  • Start by selecting your vacation dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. BEST OF BOTH WORLDS: Beach AND Maritime Forest has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain Wrightsville Beach destination you crave, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
