Rental property booking tips and tricks:

Cost saving strategies:

  • The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • To find the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wrightsville Beach area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Wrightsville Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to pick the best rental home:

  • Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. \"Gone Coastal\" - Renovated home close to beach, golf, fishing, and Calabash. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the host before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of issues.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, record any problem areas during check in. text the host immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
