Oak Island rental property booking tips and tricks:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • To get the best value, try changing your family's Wrightsville Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, , and greatly reduced traffic.
  • In the Wrightsville Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Wrightsville Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby tours and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Farmhouse at Turtle Creek: Beautiful, 3-Story, Custom Home with Decks Galore! Sh has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property manager before you book the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out which bed configuration is best for your vacation.
  • Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • Upon arrival, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
