Our top Vacation rental home tips:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • Book your Wrightsville Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Battleship Sunset on Water Street! River View! Free parking!! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.

  • If there's a certain Wrightsville Beach beach you are crazy about, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.

During your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
  • Record any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to inspire more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
