Plus, a dock 3 blocks away to launch kayaks and boat or do some fishing or boating. Also, in walking distance to kid's water park, mini golf and Middleton Park (which features live outdoor concerts, movie nights and festivals regularly throughout the summer), tennis and basketball courts and playground are all in walking distance as well. Walk or grab a golf cart to get around and appreciate all of what OKI has to offer.

Renovated 3 bedroom, 2 bath home sleeps 8. Substantial entirely fenced in deck area with patio and grille. Deck extends to back where there is a backyard firepit area and enclosed outside shower. NC Aquarium is close (15 min ferry from Southport to Ft Fisher). Bald Head Island ferry can also be taken from Southport. The waterfront in historic downtown Wilmington is a 30 min drive, as well as USS North Carolina Battleship, which is open for tours.

Tips for getting the best vacation rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • In the Wrightsville Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Summer months are high season in Oak Island. To find the best vacation home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Wrightsville Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wrightsville Beach area travel guides that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Wrightsville Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by having your family choose the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Great location! Fully fenced in yard and expansive deck. Come and relax! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or could be applied to your contract.
  • If there's a particular Wrightsville Beach destination you long to visit, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • During arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
