Our top Vacation rental home tips:

When to visit Sunset Beach & When to book:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Wrightsville Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.

Make a plan and pick the bestrental:

  • Start by choosing a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. 183 Sandy Britches by Sunset Vacations has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what is right for your vacation.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • During arrival, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to drive future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
